Once upon a time, in a faraway and beautiful plain where the clouds were like cotton candy, a little horse named Nabat lived. Nabat was very kind, and his mane smelled like spring flowers. He loved running among pink flowers.
One morning, a little butterfly named Shadi sat on Nabat’s nose. Shadi fluttered her wings, but the color of her wings had faded. She was very sad because she no longer sparkled.
Nabat, who didn’t want his friend to be sad, said: “Don’t worry, Shadi! I promise I will take you to the Golden Hill. There, the sun will make your wings colorful again.”
Their journey began. They passed through a forest whose sunflowers were like big umbrellas. Nabat walked very carefully so that Shadi, who was sitting on his head, wouldn’t fall.
Suddenly they reached a river. But this was not an ordinary river! Instead of water, shiny blue bubbles were rolling and waving inside it. Nabat stopped and looked at the bubbles.
Nabat said to Shadi: “Don’t be scared, little one—hold on tight to my ear!” Carefully, he placed his hooves on the clear stones and crossed through the dancing bubbles.
After a long walk, they arrived at the foot of the Golden Hill. Lady Sun was sitting at the top of the hill and smiling at them kindly. Nabat was tired, but he would not turn back from the promise he had made.
When they reached the peak, Shadi flew and stood right in the middle of the sunlight. Suddenly, a miracle happened! Her wings turned a bright, sky-blue color and began to shine.
Happily, Shadi circled around Nabat and said: “Thank you, Nabat! You are the best friend in the world because you kept your promise.” Nabat neighed softly with joy and jumped up and down.
When night came, the kind moon shone in the sky. Nabat and Shadi slept beside each other on the soft grass. Now Nabat knew that keeping a promise is the most beautiful feeling in the world.
