Saja was a calm and kind girl. She went to a room that smelled of jasmine flowers. Everywhere was white and clean.
In the corner of that room, there was a beautiful prayer niche. A golden light shone down from above the niche. Saja looked at that warm light.
Saja sat on a soft, light-blue prayer rug. She felt peaceful. The silence of the prayer niche was like a lovely lullaby.
Suddenly, a small blue bird named Zajal flew in through the window. With his soft wings, Zajal sat beside Saja.
The walls of the prayer niche slowly filled with tiny pink flowers. Saja stretched out her hand to smell the sweet scent of the flowers.
Zajal circled around Saja. Saja looked and saw little stars shining in the heart of the prayer niche. It was as if the sky had come there.
Saja lifted her small hands toward the sky. In a very soft voice, she began to pray. Her heart was full of joy.
A gentle light, like a warm embrace, wrapped around Saja. She felt that the angels were beside her in the silence of the prayer niche.
Zajal sat on Saja’s shoulder and tucked his head under his wing. Saja quietly said, “Kind God, thank you.”
Little by little, Saja closed her eyes. In the pure silence of the prayer niche, she drifted into a sweet sleep filled with light.
