In a garden full of pink, soft flowers, a boy named Taban lived. He had a small magical pouch that was filled with little, sparkling moons.
Taban loved his little sister, Niloufar, very much. Every night, he shared all his sweet and shining dreams with her.
One bright day, Niloufar said: “Dear Taban, would you give me your most beautiful and brightest moon to play with?” Taban kindly gave it to his sister.
Suddenly, Niloufar got a little startled. The shining moon slipped from her small hands and fell down. That beautiful moon was lost among the purple, deep clouds.
Niloufar became very upset and frightened. She thought Taban would surely be angry with her. So she went and hid behind the wings of a big butterfly.
Taban searched everywhere for his sister. His heart ached for the lost moon, but his heart missed Niloufar even more. He called out: “Niloufar, where are you?”
At last, Taban found his sister behind the flowers. He saw that Niloufar had lowered her head and was quietly crying.
Niloufar said with a trembling voice: “Forgive me, brother! Your pretty moon got lost and it won’t come back.” Taban came forward and took her hand.
Taban said: “Forgive with love and let it go. That moon was only a little piece of light, but you are my sister, and I will always love you more than all the moons.”
Now Taban and Niloufar play together again. Their smiles are brighter and more beautiful than all the magical moons in the world.
