In a small, lovely room, little Parsa was sitting on his warm, soft bed. His room was full of plush dolls and colorful paintings. Suddenly, under his flower-patterned pillow, he found a golden, shining clock that hadn’t been there before.
The clock said in a gentle voice: “Tick... tock... tick... tock...”. Parsa pressed his ear to the clock curiously. Suddenly, a soft golden light came out of the clock and, like sparkling garlands, filled the whole room.
From among the trembling lights, a small, chubby bird hopped out. His name was “Tikko.” Tikko had sky-blue feathers and a tiny beak. He circled around Parsa’s head and said with a tinkling voice: “Hello Parsa! It’s time for a dreamy journey!”
Tikko pointed to the window with his little wings. Parsa took Tikko’s hand, and suddenly they both became light, like a feather! They went out through the window and flew toward a sky that smelled like cotton candy.
They reached a land where the clouds were like comfortable sofas. Parsa sat on a big pink cloud. The cloud was so soft that Parsa sank into it a little and laughed out loud.
A little farther on, a bright yellow, shining star named “Setareh” was sitting on the tip of a silver moon. Setareh looked a bit sleepy and wore a tasselled sleeping cap. She looked at Parsa and smiled.
Setareh gave Tikko a small basket of sparkling magic. Tikko and Setareh started sprinkling tiny stars onto Parsa’s skirt. His whole skirt filled with light, like night-time decorations.
After playing, Tikko found a tall rainbow made of silk. Parsa and Tikko sat on the rainbow and, like a big slide, swooshed down. A cool, gentle breeze twirled through Parsa’s hair.
The rainbow slide ended exactly in Parsa’s room. Parsa gently landed on his bed. He was very tired, but he felt a strange happiness. Tikko went back inside the golden clock, and he placed the clock on the table.
Parsa closed his eyes and held the golden clock under his hand. He knew that tomorrow night, too, Tikko would be waiting for him. While the sound of the clock—“Tick... tock...” —was heard like a lullaby, Parsa fell into a deep, sweet sleep.
