In a faraway plain, where the clouds were like soft cotton, a white rabbit named “Cotton” lived. Cotton had fur as white as snow, and long ears and a little face. He was always kind and had a sweet smile on his lips.
Today was a very special day. Cotton wanted to make a very beautiful gift for his best friend, “Shadi.” He said to himself, “I want to make something that Shadi will always be happy to see.”
Cotton set off and went to the garden of magical flowers. Carefully, he chose the prettiest pink and purple flowers. The flowers smelled so nice, just like the scent of strawberries and honey.
Then, Cotton went to the side of the silver river. He found a long, shiny ribbon that had gotten caught among the wild mint. Cotton said happily, “This ribbon is perfect for tying my gift!”
Cotton sat under a big oak tree. He began weaving the flowers together. With his little hands, he carefully placed each flower next to another. He wanted to make a beautiful flower crown.
Cotton also found a green, glossy leaf and placed it at the corner of the flower crown. He hummed quietly and enjoyed making this handmade gift very much. He had put all his love into this work.
At last, the gift was ready! A very beautiful flower crown that smelled like spring and was decorated with the shiny ribbon. Cotton looked at his gift with pride and said, “I’m sure Shadi will love this crown.”
Cotton carefully picked up the flower crown and set off toward Shadi’s home. He hopped over small stones and passed through tall grass. His little heart was pounding fast with excitement.
Shadi, a small blue bird, was sitting on a tree branch when Cotton arrived. Cotton said loudly, “Hello, Shadi! Look what I made for you!” And he showed her the flower crown.
Shadi placed the crown on her head and began to sing. She said, “This is the best gift I’ve ever received, because you made it for me with your own hands.” Cotton and Shadi played and laughed together until sunset.
