At the edge of the world of dreams, there was a forest whose trees were made of blue cotton candy and whose leaves were made of silk. In this forest lived a kind little bear named “Mimi,” who loved peace and quiet.
Every morning when Mimi woke up, she went to the magical flowers. When a breeze blew, these flowers didn’t sway—instead, they gently stretched and yawned and spread a strawberry-like scent.
One golden afternoon, Mimi saw her dear friend “Lulu.” Lulu was a small, cottony rabbit whose ears were soft and pink like flower petals.
Lulu held a small lantern in her paw that was filled with shooting stars. She said, “Mimi, come on—let’s go and sing a lullaby for the stars.”
Together they walked through tall blades of grass that, when their little feet brushed them, made a “hissss... hissss...” sound, as if the grass wanted to fall asleep too.
Suddenly they reached the “Cloud Tree.” Instead of fruit, this tree had little clouds that floated in the air like bubbles. Mimi and Lulu looked at them in amazement.
Mimi stretched out her paw and took one of the shining bubbles. This bubble was full of sweet dreams for children who fell asleep early at night.
In the sky, the moon shone like a slice of yellow, sweet lemon. Lulu looked at the moon and softly said, “It’s time for everywhere to become quiet.”
Mimi and Lulu found a soft bed made of green moss. They pulled a blanket of mist over themselves and rested their heads on cloudy pillows.
The whole forest sank into silence. Mimi closed her eyes and flew into the world of dreams. Good night, Mimi; good night, Lulu; good night, sleepy forest.
