In a garden full of soft, pink flowers, a girl named Rosha lived. Every day Rosha played with the butterflies and waited for a magical event.
Suddenly, a beautiful bird with a crown on its head came down from the sky to the ground. Its name was Kakoli, and its wings had the colors of the rainbow.
Kakoli sat on the branch of a cherry tree and said: “Hello, Rosha! I have come from a very far-away road to bring you some news.”
Rosha asked happily: “Oh lovely bird, what news do you have from those faraway places?” Kakoli shook its golden feather.
Kakoli said: “There is a land where its sun always smiles, and its rivers are filled with sweet honey.”
Rosha closed her eyes and imagined that beautiful land. She asked: “Are people there kind to one another?”
Kakoli gave Rosha a small, shining feather and said: “Yes! This is a sign of friendship from the king of that land for you.”
Rosha held the golden feather in her hand. The feather sparkled like a small lamp and smelled like jasmine flowers.
Kakoli turned to Rosha and said: “Whenever you feel sad, look at this feather and know that happy news is on the way.”
When night came, Rosha put the golden feather under her pillow and, with the dream of a bright and kind world, fell into a sweet sleep.
