Once upon a time, a kind boy named Mani lived in a cloudy house. One beautiful morning, among the silvery grasses, he found a small, shiny seed that sparkled like a star. Mani held the seed in his hand and looked at it in surprise.
Suddenly, a small blue bird named Tee-Tee fluttered in and sat on Mani’s shoulder. In a gentle voice, Tee-Tee said, “Mani, this is a magic seed! If you take care of it every day, it will give you a big gift.” Mani promised that he would be the seed’s best guardian.
With his little hands, Mani made a soft hole in the purple soil of the garden. He gently placed the seed inside the hole and covered it with warm soil. He knew that the first step to being responsible was finding a good home for the seed.
Lady Sun had woken up. Mani took a small silver spoon and poured a few drops of clear water onto the soil. Tee-Tee flew above his head and encouraged him. Mani knew his little plant was thirsty and needed his kindness.
A few days passed. Every morning, Mani woke up early to visit the garden. One day, he saw that a small green sprout had come out of the soil. Mani shouted with happiness: “Hello, little one! I’m here to take care of you.”
Suddenly, a dark cloud covered the sun. Mani worried that his plant might get cold. With Tee-Tee’s help, he gently pushed the cloud to another side so the warm sunlight could shine on the sprout again. He learned that he must always pay attention to his garden’s needs.
The sprout grew bigger and bigger, but it still didn’t have a flower. Mani was a little tired. Tee-Tee sat beside him and said, “Be patient, dear Mani! Responsibility means staying by your friend until the end of the road.” Mani nodded and sang a lovely poem for his plant.
Mani noticed that a few small stones and dry leaves had fallen around the sprout. Carefully, he gathered them and put them into his little basket. He wanted his plant’s home to always be clean and beautiful. The garden was now the neatest place in the world.
One dreamy morning, Mani woke up to a very good smell. He ran to the garden and saw that a big, creamy flower, pink in color, had opened. Tee-Tee was circling around the flower. The magic flower, because of Mani’s care, began to shine, and tiny stars rose from it into the air.
Now Mani knew how delightful being responsible could be. He had cared for his garden with love, and the garden had given him beauty in return. He and Tee-Tee sat among the colorful flowers and smiled at the beautiful world they had made with their own hands.
