In a faraway jungle, where the clouds were like pink cotton fluff, a little piglet named "Geli" lived. Geli wasn’t really like the other piglets. She had soft lilac-colored skin and always tucked a small rose behind her ear. Geli loved walking on velvety grass and smelling wildflowers. She had a kind and big heart.
One morning, when the sun woke the jungle with its golden color, Geli came to a strange tree. Instead of green leaves, the tree had silvery leaves, and from its branches hung pink, shiny apples. Geli said to herself, "Wow! What beautiful apples! They must taste like heaven."
Geli started picking the apples. She picked them one by one, carefully, and put them into her little basket that was woven from willow branches. The basket filled up with glossy apples that smelled like honey and strawberries. Geli wanted to take these apples home, but she felt that eating them all alone wouldn’t be much fun.
On her way back, Geli came across "Pofak." Pofak was a little white fluffy rabbit who was sitting under a blue bush and looked a bit sad. Geli stopped and asked, "Dear Pofak, why are you sitting here all alone?" Pofak said, "I’m very hungry, but I couldn’t find any sweet fruit."
Geli immediately brought her basket forward. She chose the prettiest pink apple and gave it to Pofak. Geli said, "Here, my friend, this magical apple will make you feel better." Pofak happily took the apple. When he took the first bite, his eyes sparkled with joy and his long ears wiggled with happiness.
Geli continued on her way until she reached the bank of the crystal-clear river. There she saw "Ti-Ti," a small blue bird, sitting on a rock. Ti-Ti was tapping her wings together and looked sad. Geli asked, "Little Ti-Ti, what happened?" Ti-Ti answered, "I wanted to take something tasty for my chicks, but I can’t reach the fruits high up in the trees."
Kindly, Geli took a big, ripe apple out of her basket and placed it on a rock so Ti-Ti could pick it up more easily. Geli said, "Take this for your lovely chicks. These apples taste like happiness." Ti-Ti lifted the apple with her beak and, before flying off, sang a short little song to thank Geli.
Now Geli’s basket was a little lighter, but her heart was heavier and warmer than ever. She went under a weeping willow tree to rest. Pofak the rabbit joined her too. They sat together on the soft grass. Geli took out another apple and cut it into two halves so she could share it with Pofak.
The jungle sky had turned purple and orange. Geli looked at the tiny stars that were slowly appearing in the sky. She understood that sharing apples brings much more joy than eating all of them alone. Every apple she had given away had turned into a sweet memory and a new friendship.
It was time to sleep. Little Geli closed her eyes and laid her head on the fragrant flowers. Now the whole jungle smelled of apples and kindness. While she dreamed of shiny apples and her good friends, she fell asleep in perfect peace. Good night, kind Geli; good night, jungle of dreams.
