In a blue, faraway sky, a little cloud named “Cotton” lived. He was like a piece of cotton candy—white and fluffy—and he was always drifting among the stars.
Cotton had a special pair of shoes. His shoes were pink and very soft, just like colorful cotton. He loved these shoes very much.
When Cotton put on his soft shoes, he could walk on tiptoe. His footsteps on the ceiling of the sky didn’t make any sound at all. Tick, tock, tick... no, even quieter!
Along the way, he came to a small star named “Taban.” Taban was very tired and was getting ready to sleep.
With his soft shoes, Cotton passed by Taban very, very quietly. He didn’t want to wake his little friend with the sound of his footsteps.
A little farther on, the kind moon was sitting in the sky. The moon was like a golden, shiny little boat that was glimmering on the sea of night.
Cotton sat on the moon’s soft edge and swung his feet. His pink shoes sparkled in the moonlight, and from up there he looked down at the beautiful earth.
A gentle wind blew and scattered silver flakes across the sky. Cotton stood up and, in his soft shoes, danced and spun among the flakes.
Now it was time to sleep. Cotton took off his soft shoes and carefully hid them under a purple, cloudy pillow.
Cotton’s eyes closed. In his warm, cloudy bed, he dreamed of colorful butterflies. Good night, little cloud! Good night, soft shoes!
